Our School’s House System

We place high value on working as a team and supporting one another, so the School House System is an important part of student life. Starting in Grade 3, your child will join one of the ten schoolhouses. The houses are named after famous Canadians. The houses are:

1. Banting
2. Carr
3. Fleming
4. Fox
5. Gretzky
6. Laurier
7. Payette
8. Secord
9. Thomson
10. Trudeau

Each student is placed in a house. Older students in Grade 7 and 8 are given the responsibility to serve as House Captains. Throughout the year, students participate in House activities with a focus on creating positive peer connections through collaboration and cooperative learning. Older students give guidance to younger students, with a wonderful sense of camaraderie cultivated throughout the school.
