Apprendre à la maison/Learn at Home

On April 1, 2020, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Kitchener-Waterloo Bilingual School began our new Apprendre à la maison/Learn at Home model of online learning.

Our unique model ensures the continuity of our students’ learning and establishes daily routines. Research shows that students learn better in a predictable environment. Our model helps our students maintain a school-like routine appropriate for each age group.

Our model allows for student contact with their teachers and classmates. Meetings take place regularly via Google Meets according to a schedule. We believe that our students will be happy to maintain person-to-person contact with their teachers, assistants and classmates.

Children’s engagement is an essential component of our success. We invite students to discover together with us new, creative ways of learning from home as we continue our enriched, bilingual learning experience!

Our Apprendre à la maison/Learn at Home model of online learning should not add stress during this uncertain time. Rather, our model is meant to create some routine, to encourage children to focus on learning new things every day and to provide emotional well-being by reconnecting with teachers and friends while they are isolated at home. Your children’s physical and mental health are of the utmost importance!

Our teachers are highly committed to delivering the Apprendre à la maison/Learn at Home Program to our students!  If you are interested in learning more, please contact us!
